Sasha was flown into Tuscany from Russia for “Out of Tuscany”, our second co-production with Kristen Bjorn. He spoke no English, but I was so taken with him, I asked him back several times: “A Sicilian Tale”, “Backstage”, “The Innkeeper”.
His English didn’t get any better, his sexual performances did. And I tried my best to capture his breathtaking beauty, often falling short.
